The Light Within You was born from lived experience, buried pain, and the long, difficult path toward healing.
Our founder, Miguel R. Llull, is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse by a trusted priest—an experience that shattered his foundation and followed him into adulthood. After decades of silence, confusion, and emotional struggle, Miguel began a journey inward. In 2022, he spent nine months in Spain confronting his past and searching for peace. It was there, in the quiet corners of reflection, that he started to write—and slowly, the light began to return.
That personal blog, written in the summer heat of the Mediterranean, became the spark. It led to his memoir (A Predator in the Pulpit), an upcoming podcast (Into the Light Within You), and now this nonprofit.
At The Light Within You, we stand for every survivor who’s been silenced, every voice that’s been ignored, and every soul who’s still struggling in the dark. We exist to support victims and their loved ones, protect the vulnerable, expose predators and enablers, and influence policies that create a safer, more just future.
This is more than advocacy—it’s transformation. From pain into purpose. From trauma into truth. From silence into strength.
We believe there is light within you—no matter how long it’s been buried. And we’re here to help you find it.
I’m Miguel— a survivor, author, and advocate committed to helping others find their way out of the darkness. Born in Mallorca, Spain and raised in California, I spent decades battling the aftermath of childhood trauma at the hands of someone I was taught to trust, Fr Fred Lenczycki.
After a career in law enforcement, I turned my focus toward healing — not just for myself, but for others like me. Through writing, advocacy, and my nonprofit, The Light Within You, I work to create safe spaces for survivors of abuse to be heard, supported, and empowered. My memoir, A Predator in the Pulpit, and my upcoming podcast share the hard truths of survival, the ongoing journey of healing, and the hope that recovery is possible — even when it feels out of reach.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I believe in the power of connection, compassion, and the strength that comes from refusing to give up. Healing is hard, but life is still worth fighting for.
If you’ve found your way here, know this: you are not alone. And there is light within you — even if you can’t see it yet.
